Easy Samosa Recipe In An Oxy Fryer

Today, we’ll learn how to prepare a healthy, crispy version of delicious samosas in an Oxy Fryer.

For the samosa dough

Sieve 1 bowl of maida/refined flour with ½ tsp. salt.

Add 1 tsp. ajwain or carom seeds.

Add 2 tbsp. of melted ghee or clarified butter. You could also use oil instead.

Now mix all these ingredients together till you get a sand-like consistency.

Slowly add 1-2 tbsp. of water and knead a stiff dough while using as little water as possible.

Cover the dough with a cloth and keep aside to rest for 20 minutes.

For the veggie filling

Heat 1 tbsp. of oil in a pan.

Add 1 tsp. of cumin seeds along with 2 tbsp. of ginger-green chilli paste and cook for a minute.

Add fresh or frozen peas and a little water if needed. Cook for 4 minutes or till the peas are done.

Now add in the mashed or chopped potatoes. Mix in salt, cayenne or red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, garam masala powder and amchur or dried mango powder. Cook till the vegetable filling is dry.

Keep aside to cool down.

For assembling the samosa

Divide the dough into round balls.

Roll them out using a rolling pin till they are flat and oval in shape.

Make halves of each oval shape.

Seal the straight side of the half with water to form a conical pocket.

Add the filling in the cone with enough space on top to seal the samosa.

Use water again along the open end to seal the samosa. Finish making all the samosas in this manner and keep aside for 15 minutes.

For air-frying the samosas

step-1

Pre-heat the Oxy Fryer at 160° C for 6 minutes.

Brush the samosas with oil and place them in the Oxy Fryer.

Air-fry at 160° C for about 8 minutes and then flip them over.

Air-fry again at 200° C for about another 6-8 minutes till the samosas look golden brown on both sides.

Your perfectly flaky samosas are ready to serve! Enjoy them with chutney or ketchup.
